PRAGUE - June 29, 2021 - Canon Europe today announced the launch of the 14-35mm F4L IS USM RF Lens, which offers the shortest focal length of any RF lens. The novelty is the latest in three light and compact RF lenses with an aperture of f / 4, which together provide photography enthusiasts and professional photographers with a universal range of focal lengths from 14 to 200 mm. The 14-35mm F4L IS USM RF lens with quiet autofocus, 5.5 EV optical image stabilization and a 14-35mm focal length range delivers sharp, clear images thanks to aspherical and very low-scatter elements. It is ideal for photographing landscapes and architecture, but also for creating vlogs, where the author needs a stable wide angle of view.

 

 

The RF 14-35mm F4L IS USM is another addition to Canon range of high-end RF lenses built on the solid foundations of the EOS R. Combined with innovative camera bodies, all RF lenses offer unrivaled optical performance and open up new possibilities for photographers and filmmakers. Using the communication interface of the RF bayonet, the system can use combined image stabilization in the lens and in the body of compatible EOS R series cameras. With the Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6, it achieves 7 EV while maintaining autofocus and full control - a practical, high-performance solution for photography and film. Compact lens with a wide angle of view Thanks to the large bayonet diameter of the EOS R system, the RF 14-35mm F4L IS USM lens with its compact optical system achieves a wider angle of view and high image quality. Weighing in at just 540g, the RF 14-35mm F4L IS USM ranks alongside the lightweight compact RF 24-105mm F4L IS USM and RF 70-200mm F4L IS USM lenses, which form a trio with f / 4 aperture and focal length range distance for all common photographic needs. These elements, which are the result of extensive investment in optics research and development and in high-precision manufacturing technology, have a non-spherical curved surface that concentrates light into a single point. This reduces aberrations and ensures perfectly sharp images with image quality at the level of Canon renowned fixed focal length lenses. These features ensure maximum resolution over the entire image area, which is especially challenging for wide-angle lenses, as spherical distortion increases significantly. In addition, the lenses are coated with special SWC and ASC coatings developed by Canon.
